This support page is to help customers that have bought Avast Antivirus directly from us. If you have bought Avast Antivirus from a different provider, please contact them for support.
We will send you an email 28 days before the anniversary of your Avast Antivirus subscription. An invoice for the renewal of the software can be viewed, downloaded or printed by clicking a link in the email. From there you can pay your invoice by debit or credit card. If you prefer, you can pay us by bank transfer using internet or telephone banking, or you can telephone us with your debit or credit card details.
Don’t worry though, full instructions will be given in the email we send you.
This area of the Avast Antivirus system is for customers who have a self-managed system. This requires an element of additional training and is normally only given to customers who have a considerable quantity of PCs on the Avast system. Most of our customers have a partner managed system. This means that we look after the administration of the account on your behalf. If you feel you should have access to the online portal, please call us on 0333 900 6000.
Avast Antivirus will update itself automatically when new updates become available. This happens at least once a day, and quite often more than once a day.
Avast Antivirus doesn’t install a desktop icon. Instead, it puts the icon on the taskbar in the bottom right corner of your screen. If you can’t see the icon, it may be hidden. Click the Show hidden icons icon to reveal the icons that are out of sight.
Avast Antivirus installation is incredibly simple and takes just a few minutes. It requires very little intervention from you.
- Click the download link in the email that was sent to you after you signed up for Avast Antivirus.
- When prompted by your web browser, choose Run or Open if one of those options is available.
- If Run or Open isn’t available, choose Save, and then locate the downloaded file and double-click it to launch the installer.
- The Avast Antivirus software will now install on your PC. This may take some time so be patient.
- Restart the PC when asked to do so.
Avast Antivirus has the following system requirements:
Windows XP SP3 (Both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions, excluding Starter and RT editions.)
Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 CPU supporting SSE2 instructions, 256 MB+ RAM and 2 GB of hard disk space.
Please call us on 0333 900 6000. Please note, that whilst your subscription can be cancelled immediately, we are unable to offer refunds for any unused time remaining on your subscription. You can however transfer this to another PC if you like.
Yes, you can. It is imperative that you tell us before you do this though as we need to deactivate the software on the old PC first. If you don’t notify us first, the Avast Antivirus software will not fully activate on your new PC and therefore not give you protection from viruses etc.

Additional licences are charged on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of your current subscription.
